Alton Davis

Alton Ochsner Davis, AIA, NCARB, ICC, became President of Watermark Design in January 2026 after the acquisition of Meyer Engineers and Architects by Thompson Holdings. Alton joined Meyer in 2023.

Alton is an accomplished architect with more than 40 years of experience spanning architectural design, project management, and firm operations. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1987 and later completed specialized Laboratory Design Studies at the Harvard University School of Public Health. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Architects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and the International Code Council.

Davis’s expertise covers all phases of architectural practice, from programming and master planning to construction documents and project closeout. He is known for his collaborative leadership, technical consistency, and ability to guide multidisciplinary teams through complex projects while balancing design, performance, and budget considerations.

His portfolio reflects extensive work across hospitality, civic, commercial, and healthcare sectors. Notable projects include multiple renovations for the Ritz‑Carlton New Orleans, hurricane safe rooms and emergency operations centers throughout Louisiana, and historic restorations such as the LSU Old President’s House. Nationally, he has led significant hospital and laboratory renovations for Yale–Bridgeport Hospital, Montefiore Medical Center, and SUNY, as well as corporate headquarters and call centers for Fortune 500 companies across the U.S. and Canada.  He has also been involved with FEMA on numerous recovery projects from multiple hurricanes including Katrina and Ida.
